Kolo Toure, defender of Manchester City has given his reasons of switching his club captaincy to Argentina’s Carlos Tevez. Former manager Mark Hughes made a decision to appoint me as captain of the team after i returned from Arsenal and continued as captain after taken over by Roberto Mancini which went fine till now, said Toure.
He also added, Mancini before the start of season came to me and said he wanted to name Carlos Tevez as new captain to make him involve in set-up just the way it happened to Diego Maradona after naming him captain of Napoli and now i accepted this for improvement of the club.
There was a rumor about Toure trying to take over as Ivorian national team captain by provoking Didier Drogba which created an issue between the defender and officials. But finally the responsibility went to Didier Zokora. But the player has ignored everything and said there is no such problem ever existed.
