Mark Hughes, the manager of Manchester City FC got disappointed once again. He wanted Nigel De Jong, and the MCFC leaders brought him, but unfortunately, he can only play in the English Premier League, not in UEFA Cup. The reason is really simple — UEFA’s rules. They don’t allow many changes to be made to the original squad which was registered at the start of the season. Since Craig Bellamy, Shay Given and Wayne Bridge are of huge importance for the team, De Jong will have to suffer.
“Nigel was one that we looked at, but with the cover we have in those areas with Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta we went with Wayne,” said Hughes.
